APA, the Authors and Publishers Association, is a non-profit association based in Houston, Texas, composed of authors (and would-be authors), editors, designers, artists, printers, publishers, self-publishers, marketers, distributors, booksellers, Internet professionals -- anyone associated with the production, developing, marketing and distribution of books.
Although we are Houston-based, the issues on which we focus are of interest to authors and publishers all over the US and other parts of the world. That's why we've decided to set up this blog. We'll start the ball rolling, and over the next couple of weeks we will discuss a few topics that we know are of interest to folks who are involved in the creation of books. But we want this to be your blog too. Even though it's not quite a free-for-all discussion board, we want and need your input.
You can do this in one of two ways: by commenting to existing posts -- a process made easy by Blogger -- or by requesting a new topic. To request or suggest a new topic, simply write to the blog moderators at email@example.com.
Note that we do have "comment moderation" set up on Blogger, so if you choose to comment to one of our posts, you'll have to go through the process of typing the letters that appear on the screen. That's just to keep the spammers away.
There are hundreds of resources on the Internet for publishers and writers. We hope, through the APA web site and through this blog, to provide yet another useful resource -- and we hope to have fun doing it.
